Bird Study

 Bird Study
4 3/4" x 5 3/4"
Watercolor

To practice painting birds for the YOP which is due the 20th, this study was painted this morning using a reference photo from Morgue File by photographer, beglib.  I didn't sketch the bird first but used paint to shape it.  I began with the eye, painting wet on dry.

Well done, Ann! He has such a sweet head and eye, and the background greenery is lovely.

Good morning Ann. You are an early bird--and did a fine free hand painting of this little guy who caught my eye immediately.
