Cactus

Cactus
9 1/4" x 13 1/4"
Watercolor & Gouache

I'm calling this one finished and signed it this morning.  The photo is showing a bit more saturated as my camera really picks up the colors and emphasizes.  The photo was taken under normal room lamp light.

The photo reference was by KJSeiloff from the Wet Canvas Reference Image Library and appreciate its use.

Love the light and shadow in this, and the way my eye keeps moving around the painting and finding new things to see. Wonderful piece! xx

Ann this is absolutely gorgeous! From the tiny thumbnail, the textures drew me right over to see it bigger.

Beautiful finish, Ann! I really like the greens and violet shadows and how my eye moves around the piece so well.

Thank you all so much, for visiting the blog, for following the progress of the paintings, and your encouragement. That goes for everyone who has been here and commented on all the different posts.

Thanks!

Celeste, we must have been thinking alike because I was thinking about you and wondering how you were doing with your work. I'm so glad you posted as I lost your link - now it has been added again to the blog sidebar. I love the work you are doing and maybe one day soon I can visit a gallery and see your work!

Oh Ann, it is very beautiful outcome. I can see the main point on the young arms of this cactus. The flowers are just amazing.
Gosh so many thorns so little time: I really want to paint cactuses but for now I am swamped painting people (good for business, sure) but with your inspiration I will paint those spiky cuties very soon.
Thank you,
Irina
