Unnamed WIP

Began this half sheet painting this evening.  Some of the first washes consisted of New Gamboge, Azo Yellow, Smalt, Quin. Violet, Pthalo Green, and Cobalt Blue.  The skin tones have a Smalt/Quin. Violet wash in the shadows, then after that dried put in a warm skin tone wash (Transparent Brown Oxide, New Gamboge, Cad. Red Light) and a cool skin tone wash (Azo Yellow, Transparent Brown Oxide, and Quin. Rose).

Looks like a great start! But why is the water violet? What is she working on? I'm sure that will all come to light as you progress with this one :)

Love the colors, and the composition. It's always nice to see WIP, to see how people approach their subject!
