Mollie's Berries Study

Here is the finished study of Mollie's demo.  I lost it in a few areas and the paper in the center is overworked.  Don't be surprised if sometime you see stem studies posted on the blog, practicing colors and brush strokes.  There are areas of this study I like, the color of the berries and their value changes, some of the seed areas and even a couple of the stems.

No need to apologize for a lovely painting. I don't think you lost it. The strawberries look very romantic.

Susan, thank you. We have our Strawberry Festival in two weeks. Can't wait for fresh homegrown berries.

Thanks, L.W. Now where is the chocolate and the roses to go with the berries?? Happy to hear you like it.

Thank you Pat. I formed the bottom of the center berry a little more and think it looks better.

Ann, thank you. :)

I think it looks great- and I love the way you handled the background, really makes the berries stand out!

Ann I love this. :) The colors, the fluidity of the paint, everything. You have a gift for exploiting that wonderful freedom of watercolor.

P.S. These berries remind me of that children's book "The Little Mouse, the red ripe strawberry, and the big hungry bear."

I think I've read that to my boys a million times and I still love it. :)
