Swan, Upside Down Challenge

A challenge was issued to the Painting Friends group to paint a photo of the swan upside down using one color and no drawing on the paper. Painted with Undersea Green by Daniel Smith, it was a challenge painting the shapes. My painting was so out of whack I had to lift color to reshape the bird. Painted wet on dry on Fabriano wc paper, 6" x 10 1/2".

LOL, Cindi, it was out of proportion when the first shapes were laid down, hence the lifting and reshaping. Yeah, posted right side up on the blog but upside down at PF. :D The main thing is it was all painted upside down, right?

I like that undersea green you used for the water. And it doesn't look out of whack to me, either.

Hi Rhonda, I enjoyed the exercise and I really do love that undersea green. It is a work horse. The swan looks better but I really had to lift color and reshape lol.

Celeste, bless you and thank you! :)
