Potted Tulips, Watercolor

Jewel's Tulips
Watercolor
10" x 14"
Arches Cold Press

I think I am calling this finished, at least for now. In real life, the reds have a lovely glow and the mid-tones and highlights show more. While I was painting this I kept thinking of the great white shape and tried to keep some lights going diagonally from edge to edge. I will look at it again in a day or so to see if there are changes that need to be made. Thanks for looking!

You're on a roll, Ann! Very pretty! Those petals are great, the lights in them really create the shape of the flower. Beautiful. Thanks for showing the wip's, too. It's always nice to see 'how' you create your paintings.

Thanks Deb :). I worked on some of the background areas this morning with which I wasn't pleased. I'm letting that dry so I can see how the values and shapes look.
